Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan performed the wrong song at
his meeting with the young people at the Miasin (Together) movement’s
camp.

He should have sung the `Song about rabbits’, with its `We don’t
care!’ refrain, opposition politician Gurgen Yeghiazaryan told
Tert.am.

(Note: The metaphorical `Song about rabbits’ in the 1968 Soviet comedy
film `The Diamond Arm’, by film director Leonid Gaidai, became a
popular song during the late 1960s. It tells the story of a group of
personified rabbits harvesting grass at night and proclaiming that
they are not afraid of any predators, be they wolves or owls. The
rabbits boldly sing a refrain that can be roughly translated as `We
don’t care!’).

`Does he sing to conceal his and Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan’s true
nature? He sung the wrong song for us to forget his own saying: `what
can we do? Shall we let a revolution be carried out in this

In contrast to Yeghiazaryan, Heritage party Vice-Chairman Armen
Martirosyan liked the Armenian premier’s performance.

`I commend a spiritually rich political figure who is not remote from
art and love for the beautiful,’ he said.

The reason why Armenia’s premier sang `Barov ekar, sirun krunk’ (You
are welcome, dear crane) is that he received his higher education in
Saint Petersburg.

`He must have loved this song when a student,’ Martirosyan said.

Leva Khachatryan, a Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) parliamentary group
member, did not hear the Armenian premier singing. However, talking to
Tert.am he said: `And he dares sing after what has happened!’
