FRENCH SENATOR INVITES ARMENIAN AND AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENTARIANS TO A ROUND TABLE

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS: Co-President of Armenia-France friendship
group of French Senate, Senator Phillip Kaltenbach sent an invitation
to his Armenian and Azerbaijani colleagues calling to begin dialogue
on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “Armenpress” reports making a reference
on Nouvelles d’Armenie that the senator on July 19 sent letters to
Co-President Armenia-France friendship group of Armenian National
Assembly Ara Babloyan and Co-President of Azerbaijan-France friendship
group Mehriban Aliyeva. The aim of the meeting is to stimulate the
dialogue on Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
“On November 29, 2012 hosting the delegation of Armenian
parliamentarians in France I expressed wish to organize a round table
on occasion of Nagorno-Karabakh issue. My colleague Ara Babloyan also
expressed interest in it,” mentions Senator Kaltenbach. For holding
the meeting according to senator, Mehriban Aliyeva also gave her
principal agreement.
French parliamentarian insists that the expected meeting is
the continuation of mission begun by former Senate President
who also showed such initiative in past. French socialist deputy
PhillipKaltenbach is known for his pro-Armenian position. He actively
supported the adoption of bill in French Parliament criminalizing
the denial of Armenian genocide.
