Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Mohammed Morsi remained
Egypt’s president, ITAR-TASS reported.

Erdogan said he considered impossible the telephone contacts with
the Egyptian liberal leader Mohamed ElBaradei.

“How can I communicate with you?” Erdogan told ElBaradei. “You were
not elected. The government after a coup d’etat appointed you. And
moreover, it swore to you,” he said.

The prime minister recalled that the former IAEA head received 1.5
percent of votes at the 2011 elections while Morsi 52 percent. “I
consider Morsi Egypt’s president because I respect the people of the
country. If ElBaraedi was elected then, I’d said the same. But he
was not elected,” Erdogan said.

Egyptians “will not sit out and have started the legitimate fight
against the coup d’etat”, the Turkish prime minister said.
