Armenia International Airports une societe detenue par Eduardo
Eurnekian qui gère l’aeroport de Zvartnots a demande a la municipalite
d’Erevan la permission de demolir l’ancien bâtiment de l’aeroport.
Dans l’intervalle, le Conseil de l’urbanisme de la municipalite a
rejete la demande de la societe disant qu’il va demander au maire
d’Erevan a reconnaître l’ancien bâtiment de l’aeroport comme un
monument architectural.
Le nouvel aeroport dont la construction a debute en 2004, a ete mise
en service en 2007. Le vieux bâtiment de l’aeroport a ete inaugure
en 1980. L’aeroport se trouve a 12 kilomètres a l’ouest d’Erevan.
