SYRIAN ARMENIANS MAKE USE OF STATE GUARANTEES FOR LOANS

YEREVAN. – Ever since the first five months of 2013, the Small and
Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SMEDNC) of Armenia
provides more than AMD 137 million (approx. $329,996) in guarantees
to 31 start-up Syrian-Armenian businessmen.
Overall, close to AMD 300 million (approx. $722,619) in guarantees
were provided since the beginning of the year.
As a result of the SMEDNC Start-Up Business Support program, 105
applications are submitted for financial assistance.
In addition, the Economy Ministry found it appropriate to allocate
AMD 200 million (approx. $481,746) budgetary loan to SMEDNC, and for
a one-year period.
The aforementioned matter is put on the agenda of Thursday’s Cabinet
meeting.
