HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: NEGOTIATIONS OVER NAIRIT PLANT SUSPENDED

The negotiations with the Russia-based Rosneft company over the Nairit
chemical plant have been suspended for an uncertain period and may
be resumed in the latter half of this autumn.

The negotiations were started about a year ago. Armenia’s government
wants to transfer the plant to the potential investor against the
debt. However, Rosneft wants to acquire the enterprise without
any debts.

“This is what the sides cannot by any means agree on,” the newspaper
reads.
