Driver responsible for deadly accident had record of traffic offences

MOSCOW. July 13

The truck driver reportedly responsible for Saturday’s deadly traffic
accident south of Moscow, had a record of administrative offenses for
violating traffic rules, said Moscow’s vice mayor, Pyotr Biryukov.

“The truck was steered by an Armenian citizen, aged 46. He has six
entries on his record of administrative offences for violating traffic
rules. Police are investigating. He is being questioned,” Biryukov
said in a conference call at the Emergency Situations Ministry on
Saturday.

The truck driver ploughed into a bus which was in roadworthy condition
and had a GLONASS navigator.

The bus driver is a resident of Bryansk, aged 37, who has been driving
motor vehicles since 1995 and has a valid driving license,” Biryukov
said.
