SCR COOPERATES WITH IRAN ON BUILDING SOUTHERN ARMENIA RAILWAY

Director General of the South Caucasus Railways Viktor Rebets visited
Iran where he held meetings with the leadership of Iranian Chamber
of Commerce and Transport Ministry.
During the bilateral meetings, the sides discussed prospects
of construction of Southern Railway, forecasted flow of cargo,
possibility of building a logistics center based on Yeraskh station.
The launch of Southern Armenia Railway and Southern Armenia High Speed
Road Projects estimated at $3 billion was announced in January 2013.
Trilateral memorandum of understanding on regional cooperation was
signed by Armenian Transport Ministry, Dubai-based Rasia FZE and
South Caucasus Railways CJCS in January.
