Heritage leader concerned over migration trends

The opposition Heritage party’s leader told supporters on Saturday he
is afraid the continuing migration from Armenia may lead the country
to a demographic crisis.

`Migration has turned into an unoriginal word, but the one who stands
at the border knows it is a disaster,’ Raffi Hovhannisyan said, adding
that it would be wrong to accuse the opposition of that, without
considering the authorities’ failures.

`I disappointed you without causing a bloodshed or proposing a shadow
cabinet. If I have caused at least one person to migrate, I apologize
for that,’ said the former presidential candidate.

Hovhannisyan added that he now sees rebellion hotbeds in the country
now, reflecting the real existing concerns.

`The problem of freedom fighters [participants of Karabakh war] who
voice a demand for being treated with a due dignity, soldiers’
vulnerability on the borders, as well as in the military units.
Armavir [region] suffered a hailstorm, so the authorities mustn’t wait
until a benefactor offers aid to the villagers,’ he said, enumerating
numerous other problems that periodically meet the populations’
discontent.
