Chess: Aronian finishes fifth at Stavanger

Top Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian finished fifth in the 10-man
super tournament that ended in Stavanger, Norway, on Saturday.

In the last two rounds of the competition the Armenian tied games
against Bulgaria’s Veselin Topalov and Norway’s Magnus Carlsen.

Aronian earned 5 points. Sergey Karjakin from Russia became the winner
of the tournament with 6 points, followed by Carlsen and Hikaru
Nakamura from the United States (both with 5 ½ points).
