Yerevan has 1,678,000 trees

YEREVAN. – At present, 1,678,000 trees `live’ in Armenia’s capital
city Yerevan, the Yerevan Municipality told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the source, there are currently 326,000 trees in the
city’s areas of common use, and 798,000 trees in the areas of limited
use. At the same time, 554,000 trees are planted in the areas of
special use.

In addition, landscape gardening at the Paros forest grove is planned
to be increased this year. Also, an irrigation system is planned to be
installed at the Yerablur Military Pantheon. Furthermore, a
large-scale tree-planting is expected in these areas this fall.

As a result, a little more than one tree falls for each Yerevan resident.
