YEREVAN. – Liberation of Shushi was a foundation of our victory in the
Karabakh war, former president of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arkady
Ghukasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ghukasyan said the war could go differently, if the Shushi operation
failed. He recalled that May 9 also marks the Day of the Karabakh
Defense Army.

`As regards the Victory Day, it is a holy day. We must remember the
feats of our fathers and grandfathers, and to be worthy followers,’ he
said.

On May 9 Armenians mark Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Shushi
Liberation and Karabakh Defense Army Day.
