ARFD URGES THE REST OF OPPOSITION FORCES NOT TO YIELD TO PROVOCATIONS

The Armenian authorities are trying to sow discord within the
opposition, however, ARF Dashnaktsutyun will not yield to these
provocations, Vahan Hovhannisyan, MP from ARFD Faction, said at
today’s rally in Yerevan.

He believes that the ARFD is the only opposition force that advocates
consolidation and does not criticize the rest of the opposition forces
because it realizes perfectly that victory and change of power are
possible only in that case.

Hovhannisyan stressed that Taron Margaryan, the incumbent mayor of
Yerevan, representative of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia,
conducted his campaign alone, whereas ARFD has a good team and is
not ashamed of it. He believes that it’s time to vote for Armenia’s
future and for the cardinal changes ARFD is capable to bring.

“The problem is that officials have been appointed so far, and their
only function has been to contribute to power retention. In case
of victory, ARFD will change the situation and an official will be
accountable to the citizens that have voted for him”, he said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
