ARMENIAN ST VIRGIN MARY IN TURKEY’S SIVAS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED

A historic Armenian St Virgin Mary church in the Turkish Gurun region
of Sivas province will be reconstructed, head of the region Mehmet
Aktas said, according to Star paper.
The church that dates back to 19th century has served as a jail for a
long time, then turned into cinema and a store, but remained standing.
Aktas said the reconstruction works will be implemented by Culture and
Tourism Ministry in collaboration with the governor’s office of Sivas.
He said the church will be reconstructed in short period of time and
will serve as a museum of culture.
