RPA Silent On New Prime Minister’s Candidacy

RPA SILENT ON NEW PRIME MINISTER’S CANDIDACY

February 26, 2013 – 16:09 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – The new government to be formed following the
swearing in of the reelected president is being widely discussed.

According to Zhoghovurd daily, the candidacy of a new Prime Minister
is debated by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), with ex-Yerevan
Mayor, Gazprom deputy director Karen Karapetyan as the most likely
nominee.

As the daily said, this is the reason Karapetyan has recently returned
from Moscow to meet RPA representatives.

As RPA spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told PanARMENIAN.Net no
governmental shuffles has been discussed at RPA. “It will be up to
political majority and the president to decide on the governmental
composition,” he said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
