Sargsyan Proposes Three Options To Hovannisian

SARGSYAN PROPOSES THREE OPTIONS TO HOVANNISIAN

“Hraparak” daily writes that Serzh Sargsyan said at the sitting
of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) that he had proposed that
Raffi Hovannisian should choose out of three possible scenarios of
postelection developments.

1. Raffi becomes a new pole of opposition, he wages his struggle
based on civilized norms; he acknowledges taking second place in the
election and continues to struggle on the political scene.

2. Raffi and his supporters take radical measures, being prepared to
encounter similar actions by the authorities.

3. Raffi cooperates with HHK and they “work together”.

“Think a bit,” Sargsyan told Raffi Hovannisian. Serzh Sargsyan also
said at the HHK executive body sitting: “We have no problems. Let
them decide. We are prepared for all the three scenarios”.

However, judging from the fact that after his meeting with
Serzh Sargsyan, Raffi Hovannisian met with representatives
of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun and then urged all representatives of the
opposition to unite, he has no intention of accepting the proposal
about joint work.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
