YEREVAN. – Armenian presidential candidate, former Foreign Minister
Arman Melikyan met with the head of the EU delegation to Armenia,
Ambassador Traian Hristea this Thursday.

The two sides discussed issues related to the presidential elections
held on February 18 in Armenia.

“I said that, obviously, falsified elections cannot be considered
as a step forward, even by the most indulgent observer mission. I
also gave him the video, which clearly shows how about 11 thousand
votes in my favor just disappear,” Melikyan wrote on his Facebook
page after the meeting.

He drew the ambassador’s attention to the fact that the incident casts
a shadow not only on elections in Armenia, but also on the validity
of assessments by international observers.

“Soon I will be meeting with the ambassadors of the permanent
members of the UN Security Council, I already have agreements with
the ambassadors of China and Russia, also I expect responses from
the ambassadors of Britain, the United States of America and France,”
Melikyan informed.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
