“The fact that Paryur Hayrikain has not postponed the election is
an interesting event in itself. Such crimes are easy to disclose,
especially as the victim saw the criminal’s face. The criminal can
be easily found by means of a photofit. And the shameful claims that
Russian forces are behind the crime should be brought to an end. The
victim’s words about that are excusable, in some way,” Chairman of
the Union of Political Scientists Hmayak Hovhannisian said at the
meeting with journalists today.
In his words, during the first ten days of his election campaign,
Hayrikian tried not to confront the authorities and made constructive
proposals.
“Paruyr Hayrikian resembles Don Quixote. The circumstance that Hayrkian
did not postpone the election for two weeks shows that his previous
accentuations in the election campaign will continue, moreover, he
is going to mitigate his criticism of authorities,” Hovhannisian said.
He noted that the crime was aimed against the election, and any person,
especially a mentally deranged one, might commit it.
