The assassination attempt on Paruyr Hayrikyan was a blow to the
authorities and statehood, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said,
speaking to reporters.
“I believe the motives could be different, but one thing is obvious:
This is first of all a blow to the authorities and statehood,” the
Prime Minister said.
Tigran Sargsyan noted that the most important issue at this point
is Paruyr Hayrikyan’s health condition. “All necessary measures have
been taken,” he assured.
“All of us are outraged at what happened, and everything should be
done to reveal those guilty,” Tigran Sargsyan said.
Armenian presidential candidate and leader of the National
Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot in central Yerevan
shortly before midnight Friday.
