Iran-Turkey trade at $21bn in 2012

Zanjan, Jan 20, IRNA – Turkey’s consul general in Tabriz G. Begic said
on Sunday that volume of Iran-Turkey commercial transaction stood at
more than 21 billion dollars in 2012 from 16 billion dollars in 2011.

Speaking in a meeting with Governor General of Zanjan province on
Sunday, Begic said abundant commercial and economic opportunities are
available both in Iran and Turkey which prepare the ground for
development of mutual transactions.

He said Iran is a big country neighboring Turkey and its capacities
should be used for expansion of mutual trade. “Turkey is ready for
increasing investments in Iran and introducing new entrepreneurs.”

Economic relations between Zanjan and Trabzon provide a valuable
opportunity for expansion of trade ties. He underlined the need for
making proper plans to increase exports and imports between Iran and
Turkey.
