8530.1 TONS OF CANNED FOOD PRODUCED IN ARMENIA IN JAN-NOV 2012
YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Armenia produced 8530.1 tons of canned
food in Jan-Nov 2012 – 24.5% year-on-year decline, the National
Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
According to the statistical report, the country built up its canned
meat output 2.5 times – from 269.2 tons in Jan-Nov 2011 to 686.2 tons
at the same period of 2012.
The country also produced 2829.2 tons of canned vegetables in Jan-Nov
2012 against 3759.4 tons at the same period a year earlier (24.7%
decline).
Armenia’s canned tomatoes output shrank 45.2% in Jan-Nov 2012, compared
with the same period a year before from 5132.4 tons to 2814.4 tons,
while canned fruits output grew 0.7% to 2148.4 tons.
Some 178.6 tons of ketchup were produced in Jan-Nov 2012 (63.5%
year-on-year decline) and 13,854,900 liters of natural juices against
12,238,600 in Jan-Nov 2011 (13.2% growth). -0-
