Armenia’s government allocates money to reimburse costs for
transferring late Flora Martirosyan’s body

YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia on Thursday adopted a decision to
allocate AMD 5.18 million to reimburse the expenses for the transfer
of renowned Armenian folk singer, dear departed Flora Martirosyan’s
body from US to Armenia, and for her funeral.
This amount will be allotted to the Ministry of Culture, and from the
Government Reserves.
The transfer of Martirosyan’s body cost AMD 3.48 million and the
funeral expenses were AMD 1.7 million. In line with the current
exchange rate, US$ 1 is equivalent to approximately AMD 406.
To note, People’s Artist of Armenia, distinguished Armenian folk music
singer Flora Martirosyan passed away on November 20 in the United
States, where she was residing. Martirosyan was 55 years old. Her body
was transferred to Armenia and laid to rest at capital Yerevan City
Pantheon.
