ARMENIAN BECAME THE VICTIM OF EXPLOSION IN JARAMANA DISTRICT OF DAMASCUS

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS: Turned out that there was Armenian
found in the number of victims of explosion which took place on
November 28 in Armenian inhabited Damascus Jaramana districts. Dual
citizen Fadi Polo died in a result of explosion. Armenpress was
informed from the spokesman of Armenian MFA Tigran Balayan.

As Armenpress has earlier reported dozens of people died and were
injured because of the explosion in the Armenian district of Jaramana
in Damascus in the morning on November 28. Hospitals are full of the
explosion victims.

Syrian SANA agency stated that there were explosions in Nahda and
Karyat districts, which caused not only human casualties, but also
heavily damaged the surrounding buildings, trade centers and vehicles.

The majority of Jaramana population is Christians, including more
than 400 Armenian families.

Member of “Emergency Unit of the Syrian-Armenians” Raffi Avetisyan
informed the Armenian portal of the Middle East “Azat Hay” that in
accordance with the present information the clashes in Syria lasting
about 20 months caused the death of 40 Armenians and the injuries of
66 people of Armenian origin. There are also 7 kidnapped Armenians,
and 2 missing servicemen. More than 200 houses have been damaged.
