ARMENIA’S STATE COMMISSION FOR ECONOMIC COMPETITION PROTECTION TO FAMILIARIZE WITH GERMANY’S BUNDESKARTELLAMT

YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. Chairman of Armenia’s State Commission
for Protection of Economic Competition Artak Shaboyan headed for
Germany Monday to get familiar with the regulations of Germany’s
Bundeskartellamt, an independent competition authority whose task is
to protect competition in Germany.

During his visit, Shaboyan will also get familiar with Germany’s
state aid control system, the ways to step up cooperation with the
analogical German structures and to present the most important events
related to ensuring better competition regulation in Armenia.

The visit will be held in the framework of Twinning program
“Legislature roll-out in the competition and state aid spheres.” Mr.

Shaboyan is also expected to meet a chairman of Bundeskartellamt
Andreas Mundt and State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economic
and Technology Peter Hintze.

The purpose of Twinning program 2011-2013 is to improve Armenia’s
competitive environment, foster more active legislative performance
of the State Commission for Economic Competition Protection. The
program financing stands at 1.1 million euros.-0-
