“TELETHON 2012” RAISED DONATIONS AND PLEDGES OF USD 21 MILLION 422, 477

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. The “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund’s
15th annual Telethon raised donations and pledges of USD 21 million
422, 477. It was on air from Los Angeles for 12 hours. The Telethon
was held under the slogan “Our Village,” Telethon 2012 aimed to raise
support for constructing community centers in villages throughout
Armenia and Artsakh, as well as providing urgent relief to the
Syrian-Armenian community.
As reports “Armenpress” this year, fundraisers have been held in
the United States, Canada (Montreal and Toronto), France, Germany,
Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Greece, Sweden, Great Britain, Austria,
Australia, Argentina, Brazil, and Russia (Moscow). Funds raised through
all 2012 events have been added to the proceeds of the Telethon,
and the grand total was announced prior to the conclusion of the event.
It has been already 20 years that the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund’s
raises funds via the Armenians worldwide for the realization of
the needs of socio-economic importance in Armenia and Artsakh. Last
year the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund announced USD 12.286.478 worth
donations and pledges raised at its Telethon 2011.
