YEREVAN. – The pre-election promises in Armenia are not usually kept,
political scientist Levon Shirinyan said during a press conference on
Saturday.

`The opposition will run in the [2013] presidential elections with a
single candidate, but his chances for success are not great because
the ruling [Republican Party] RPA is very organized and it has
influential resources in the country’s politics,’ Shirinyan noted.

In the analyst’s view, as a rule, the pre-election pledges do not
become a reality in the Armenian scene. `This, simply, is somewhat of
a political technology aimed at winning the people’s trust. The
political arena in Armenia is nothing but an enormous field of
intrigues,’ Levon Shirinyan stressed.
