Baku. Konul Jafarli – APA. Armenian president Serz Sargsyan said
that he countered to the sanctions imposed by the US against Iran,
APA reports quoting IRIB.

Sargsyan said that Armenia is making efforts to develop and extend
the relations with Iran in all spheres: “But our American and European
partners are not satisfied with this.”

The Armenian president underlined that his country’s friendship with
Iran is not contrary to the relations with its strategic partner
Russia: “The integration into Russia and the CIS countries has nothing
to do with the relations between Armenia and Iran. We don’t see the
development of the relations with these countries as an obstacle to
the extension of the relations with Tehran. Armenia aims to enhance
the relations and current ties with Iran. The relations between
the two countries are being extended and the construction of Mehri
hydroelectric power station over Araz is an obvious example of it.”
