PRESIDENT OF URUGUAY’S CHAMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES VISITS TSITSERNAKABERD

The delegation headed by President of the Chamber of Representatives of
the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Jorge Orrico visited Tsitsernakaberd
to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. The
guests, accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National
Assembly Edward Sharmazanov, laid a wreath at the memorial to the
innocent victims.
Members of the Uruguayan delegation toured the Armenian Genocide
Museum Institute accompanied by its Director Hayk Demoyan.
Jorge Orrico left a note in the Commemoration Book. “On behalf of
Uruguay we reiterate our support to your struggle. It’s impossible to
move forward without the resoluteness to accept the present,” he wrote.
Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives planted a fir tree in the
Memory Alley.
