U.S. AMBASSADOR EXPECTS SERIOUS COMPETITION IN ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Yerevan/Mediamax/. U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern said today
that he expects serious competition in the presidential elections
due to be held in Armenia in February 2013.

The Ambassador expressed the hope that “several strong competitors –
at least two – will take part in the election campaign”.

Answering Mediamax’s question, the U.S. diplomat said that it will
be good for the Armenian President, ruling Republican Party and
the country.

Touching upon the U.S. presidential elections, the Ambassador noted
that there was a competition between strong contenders, ideologies
and visions as well as free and open media.
