Ambassador: “Macedonia has no diplomatic relations with Armenia”

Baku. Anakhanim Hidayatova-APA. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary to Turkey Faig Bagirov met with Macedonia’s
ambassador to Turkey and Azerbaijan Guran Toskovski. Reports that
Macedonia is going to recognize the so-called “Nagorno Karabakh
Republic” established by the Armenian separatists in the occupied
Azerbaijani territories were discussed at the meeting. Spokesman
for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elman Abdullayev told APA that
Macedonia’s Ambassador Guran Toskovski refuted the reports and said
Macedonia supports just position of Azerbaijan on Nagorno Karabakh
conflict, recognizes Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial
integrity. Ambassador also said that Macedonia has no diplomatic
relations with Armenia.

Armenian media had reported that Armenian newly-appointed “honorary
consul” to Macedonia Araik Sargsyan raised issue on recognition of
the so-called “Nagorno Karabakh Republic” by Macedonia.
