23 October: The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has commented on the
holding by the Armenian armed forces of a military exercise in the
occupied Azerbaijani lands and the attendance of the Armenian president
in it.

“There is no reason for concern. The time will come when they
will not be able to make even one step on [Azerbaijan’s breakaway
Armenian-controlled] Karabakh land,” the deputy chief of the Defence
Ministry press service, Teymur Abdullayev, told Trend.

According to a report circulated by the Armenian presidential press
service, [President Serzh Sargsyan] during his visit to occupied
Azerbaijani territories was accompanied by Defence Minister Seyran
Ohanyan and high ranking military officials. Sargsyan inspected
positions on the line of contact between [Armenian and Azerbaijani]
troops and familiarized himself with the training of the so-called
“Nagornyy Karabakh army”.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
