YEREVAN.- There is no need to comment on the statement of Armenia’s
second President Robert Kocharyan, it speaks for itself, ARFD member
Aghvan Vardanyan told reporters in parliament on Friday.

He said many comments on the statement were coordinated by one center.

Aghvan Vardanyan is confident that Oskanian’s case is politically
motivated.

ARFD member also expressed concern over Prosperous Armenia Party’s
decision to boycott parliament sessions.

“It may lead to serious processes. At the moment it is not clear
whether they will return to parliament,” he emphasized.

In his statement Kocharyan called former minister Oskanian “one of the
most successful ministers and an Armenian politician who withstood
the test of the authorities” and expressed regret over the recent
developments.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
