Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze thinks the stationing of
Russian troops in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri could pose
regional security threats.
He has shared his concerns with Deputy Secretary of the US State
Department Bill Burns. According to Apsny.ge, the meeting with the US
official focused on the upcoming parliamentary election in Georgia,
the situation in the Caucasus region and international cooperation
issues.
`We discussed the regional situation in terms of the Russian armed
forces’ centralization, as well as their stationing in Gyumri, which
poses threats to the region,’ Vashadze was quoted as saying.
