LORIS TCHGNAVORYAN TO CELEBRATE HIS ANNIVERSARY IN HOMELAND

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: World famous composer, conductor,
Loris Tchgnavoryann is scheduled to celebrate his 75th anniversary
in Armenia. Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic
Theatre chief artistic director Karen Durgaryan invited maestro to
be present in the jubilee evening and enjoy the extracts from his
written works to kick off on October 19.

As the great Maestro confessed in the briefing with Armenpress he
is extremely happy to celebrate his anniversary in the Motherland,
where is welcomed with warmth. Fragments from his eighty works, five
symphonies, operas will be performed in the course of the anniversary
evening dedicated to Loris Tchgnavoryan.

Tchgnavoryan has great contribution in the recognition of Armenian
independence, on those days a great concert was held entitled ” Yes
to Independence” to prompt independence recognition. ” All Armenia
was following the concert and in a night the voices of the favoring
people got 96 percent. Yet I was not an Armenian citizen, I just
could not cast my vote in favor of independence. I cooked the dish
and did not eat it” Tchgnavoryan joked.

Throughout different periods of times Tchgnavoryan received different
prizes, the latest award maestro was granted with is the “prominent
conductor” . Loris Chgnavoryann was awarded with 1st degree medal
“for services rendered to the Motherland” on the occasion of the 21st
anniversary of Armenian independence.
