US expects explanations from Hungary and Azerbaijan on the extradition
and release of Azeri murderer Ramil Safarov, US Ambassador to
Armenia John Heffern said after signing an agreement on continuing
the juridical cooperation at the RA General Procuracy today.
The diplomat reminded that immediately after the extradition a
statement came from Washington expressing its concern over what
has happened.
“I want to reconfirm that the US, as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, is
against any manifestations that threaten the fragile peace process. We
expect explanations from Budapest and Baku, and we will be persistent
in receiving them,” yerkir.am quotes the US Ambassador as saying.
