An action of protest was organized in front of Armenia’s Foreign
Ministry on Saturday. The protesters demanded immediate resignation of
Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan.

In their open letter they welcomed the Armenian President’s decision
to suspend Armenia’s diplomatic relations with Hungary and demanded
that the country should terminate its agreements with NATO, withdraw
its peacekeepers and stop its negotiations with the European Union.

“We demand immediate resignation of Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandyan, whose inaction has led to such terrible consequences,”
member of the Hayazn Union Armen Lazarian said.

Hungarian linguist Benedek Zsigmond apologized to the Armenian nation
for the meanness and corruptness of his government. He said that it
was a mean and irresponsible action. Zsigmond does not rule out the
possibility of a deal between the Hungarian and Azeri authorities. “I
think they were actually bribed,” the Hungarian said.

>From the Foreign Ministry of Armenia the protesters moved to the
Hungarian Consulate, where they burned a Hungarian flag.

It was the second action of protest in front of the Hungarian
Consulate. Earlier in the day a group of protesters led by translator
David Vardazaryan threw eggs at the building. On Friday a group of
protested bombarded the building with tomatoes.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
