12,108 SCHOOL GRADUATES FROM ARMENIA AND NAGORNO-KARABAKH REPUBLIC ENROLLED IN ARMENIA’S UNIVERSITIES THIS YEAR

YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. Some 12,108 school graduates from Armenia
and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic became first-year students at Armenia’s
state-run and private universities in 2012 after passing the unified
entrance exams, the press office of the education ministry reported
on Saturday.

Armen Ashotyan, the education minister, said 10,470 of them were
enrolled in paid departments and 1,600 in free departments.

Seven winners of international Olympiads and 19 winners in world and
European sport contests were enrolled without entrance exams.

As many as 18,105 school graduates from Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic passed the unified university entrance exams this year.

Some 40 examination centers were opened in Armenia’s provinces and
eight centers in Nagorno Karabakh.
