“The forthcoming presidential election will undoubtedly symbolize the
next phase of consolidation of the international democratic standards
in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”, Speaker of the NKR Parliament
Ashot Ghulyan said at the fifth session of the NKR Parliament.

Ghulyan called on the voters to use their civil right and take part
in the voting. He said that the participation of each citizen in
the voting is the pledge of development of independent and sovereign
statehood of Artsakh, particularly, its international recognition”.

To recall, the presidential election in Karabakh is scheduled for July
19. The election campaign started on June 20 and will last till July
17. The Central Electoral Commission of the NKR has registered all the
four candidates: Bako Sahakyan, the incumbent president of the NKR,
Vitaly Balasanyan, member of the NKR Parliament, Arkady Soghomonyan,
Assistant Principal of the Stepanakert branch of the Armenian State
Agrarian University, and Valery Khachatryan, the ex-head of the
Administration Department of the NKR Parliament.
