CSTO HEAD, ARMENIAN PRES DISCUSS PREPARATIONS FOR JOINT EXERCISES

The secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
(CSTO), Nikolai Bordyuzha, met on Monday with Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan to discuss preparations for the joint exercised of
the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (KSOR), the press service of the
Armenian president reported.

The sides “also discussed the implementation of decisions of the
previous CSTO session and issues concerning the upcoming session,”
the report said.

At meetings with Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandyan and the
secretary of the Armenian National Security Council Artur Bagdasaryan,
participants in the talks noted that the upcoming exercises would
be held within the framework of the plan of operational and combat
training of the CSTO countries’ armed forces.

The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the regional and
international situation. The Cooperation 2012 joint exercises of the
CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force will be held in Armenia from
September 3 to 8.
