Shots were fired on Friday in Arzni village of Armenia’s Kotayk
Region. A burst of machine-gun fire was heard, Armenian News-NEWS.am
has informed.

According to eyewitnesses, a villager by the name of Stepan, who is
40-45 years old, argued with a neighbor and subsequently fired
machine-gun shots in anger. Fortunately, he fired the shots in the air
and therefore no one was injured.

The police officers, who arrived at the scene, discovered five loaded
automatic weapon cartridges and a light-signaled missile from the home
of Stepan S. The weapon is confiscated and Stepan is detained.

An investigation is underway.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
