Why Do Ill-Informed People Speak About Karabakh?

WHY DO ILL-INFORMED PEOPLE SPEAK ABOUT KARABAKH?

Amazingly some people speak of Artsakh so complacently whereas in fact
they are ignorant of what is actually going on in here. Sociologist
Aharon Adibekyan belongs to this group of people who, as he assures,
recently arrived in Artsakh on the instruction of the authorities.

During the press conference held in Yerevan he made some announcements
which do not correspond to the facts. Speaking of his visit he
announced that it was ordered by the “Azat Artsakh” party. We know
that no “Azat Artsakh” party exists in Artsakh. Perhaps he confused
it with the name of the Republican newspaper.

If he was invited to Artsakh by the “Azat Artsakh” party all the
charges of his team should not have been borne by the NKR Government;
the sociologist stayed in the “Armenia” hotel.

Speaking of Vitali Balasanyan, one of the candidates for the
Presidency, the sociologist noted that he was the commander of
Mardakert military region. Aharon Adibekyan is actually unaware that
no military region ever existed in Mardakert.

If, according to Adibekyan, only 5.8 percent of the Artsakh people
are really worried about the Artsakh conflict, it means he at least
deceives the Azerbaijani authorities or he is a special agent.

Improbable announcements were also made by politician Hrant
Melik-Shahnazaryan who touched upon the domestic policy issues
of Artsakh, particularly the upcoming presidential elections. He
announced that still until June 19 candidates can be nominated.

Whereas the politician should know that it is more than a month the
candidates’ nomination has been completed, consequently no nomination
is possible. In his another announcement the politician, allegedly
aware of the internal political situation in Karabakh, noted that there
are 4 registered candidates at present. It should be mentioned that
there are no registered candidates yet though the registration process
has already commenced. Before making announcements the politician had
better get acquainted with the candidates’ nomination and registration
processes so that he could differentiate them.

I wonder why and on whose instruction such ill-informed people speak
about Karabakh.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
