Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Rear Admiral Sergei
Avakyants Pacific Fleet commander, RIA Novosti reported, citing the
Kremlin sources.
Avakyants was Pacific Fleet chief of staff and PF first deputy
commander.
He has been acting commander since 2010.
