ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) and Armenian National Congress (ANC) will
have discrepancies regardless of the single campaign headquarters,
Head of ARFD Faction Vahan Hovhannisyan said during the discussion
of ARFD’s election program on April 26.

He said that the creation of the campaign headquarters including
ARFD, ANC and Prosperous Armenia is aimed at holding free and fair
parliamentary elections. “We had no other choice. We have no right to
distrust the forces, which have decided to fight for fair elections
together with us. But this does not mean that we will create a certain
union, because after obtaining the seats in the parliament, we’ll
still have discrepancies with ANC on many problems”, Hovhannisyan said.

He added that ARFD is running to become the majority. He pointed out
that ARFD will by no means join the forces, which are members of the
current ruling coalition.

To recall, the declaration on creation of single campaign headquarters
was signed by the representatives of Heritage, ARFD, ANC and Prosperous
Armenia, however, Heritage suspended its participation because of some
discrepancies. This circumstance has caused strong criticism against
the party, which is blamed for supporting the ruling Republican Party
of Armenia.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
