PanARMENIAN.Net – Naira Zohrabyan, Armenian co-chair of Armenia-EU
parliamentary cooperation commission commented on Azerbaijani media
reports on European Parliament’s resolution.

Azerbaijan claimed that the European Parliament issued some
anti-Armenian statements in its resolution on Association Agreement
between Armenia and EU adopted on April 18.

“Azerbaijani media, as usual, engage in distorting the truth and
spreading misinformation, using methods characteristic of Gebbels,”
Zohrabyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net rsquo;s reporter.

According to Zohrabyan, the resolution refers to Aquila statement
of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs. She reminded that this statement
contains a key provision for Armenia as to the “future determination of
the final legal status of Nagorno Karabakh through a legally binding
expression of will”.

The Armenian MP said the resolution also urged Armenia to hold really
free and fair elections in May in line with European standards.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani media claimed that the European Parliament’s
resolution allegedly voiced intention to carry out investigation into
Armenia’s policy of inhabiting Nagorno Karabakh and other liberated
territories, as well as allegedly called on Armenia to abstain from
sending its citizens for a military duty in Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
