PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenian Genocide recognition mustn’t be perceived
as a key area of Armenia’s policy, a political analyst said.

Levon Shirinyan stressed ensuring the country’s security and
recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic as priority areas
resources should target.

The expert offers to abandon aspiration to achieve international
recognition of the Armenian Genocide, instead building a country that
will be able to advance the issue by itself.

“The sole correct path is to focus on strengthening of the country,
consolidation of economy and development of the armed forces,” Mr.

Shirinyan said, adding that Armenian Genocide recognition demands
must include compensation and territorial claims,” Mr. Shirinyan said.

“Apart from Genocide perpetration, Turkey plundered and invaded
our territories. Only strong Armenia can set forth such demands,”
the expert said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
