Interaction of the Russian and Armenian parliaments plays an important
role in the establishment and development of bilateral cooperation,
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during his meeting in
the National Assembly of the Republic in Yerevan on Tuesday.
Owing to the interaction of the kind, Russia and Armenia can speak
about enhancement of the bilateral cooperation’s legal basis and
integration processes in the security, economic and humanitarian
spheres, he said.
Lavrov highly assessed the contribution of Russian and Armenian
parliamentarians in the activities of international organisations. The
Russian foreign minister spoke in favour of closer interaction in
the format of international and interparliamentary organisations,
the National Assembly’s press service said.
Lavrov thanked Armenia’s deputies for their assistance as observers
in the presidential election in Russia on March 4. He wished every
success in the upcoming elections in Armenia due on May 6.
“Russia will take an active part in the observer missions in Armenia’s
elections,” he repeated.
