French presidential candidate Francois Hollande said Turkey has not
reached sufficient level of democracy to join the EU.
Turkey does not guarantee equal rights for men and women, right for
media freedom, judiciary reforms, minorities’ protection and women
rights, he said.
He also recalled that Turkey has not settled the Cyprus dispute, while
Ankara’s refusal to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide is unacceptable,
