Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran has announced that the 1.6bln arms deal
was signed with Israel, according to him, “for the liberation of the
occupied Azerbaijani territories”. Javanshir Akhundov has confirmed
that the arms will be used to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
To recall, Israel’s defense ministry officials confirmed a few days
ago the news circulated in media that Azerbaijan is going to buy
unmanned aerial vehicles and new air defense systems from Israel.
It was reported, the corresponding deal between Israeli Aerospace
Industries Ltd and Azerbaijani defense ministry was already signed,
and the amount of the deal totals 1.6bln.
