Head of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Vahan Hovhannisyan
said during the discussions on the amendments to the election code to
pass to proportional representation that it is not necessary to discuss
which representation is better the majoritarian or the proportional,
as the authorities do.
“Don’t think we have read and know less than you do. Today, it is not
the parliament to form the executive power, but the executive branch
forms the parliament through the majoritarian elected MPs. So, there
can be no change of power, for this you have introduced a draft law
to prevent a change of power through the armed forces too”, he said.
ARFD Supreme Body representative Armen Rustamyan stated that the
concepts of party, power and state are identified now. He added
that there is no political and ideological fight in the majoritarian
representation but only financial and administrative levers.
Head of the Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan noted
the authorities make the democracy a mutant through the mixed
representation.
