Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The size of Azerbaijani government’s spending
on internally displaced person in connection with Armenian occupation
of 20% of Azerbaijani territory has been named.

Azerbaijan’s vice premier and chairman of the State Committee for
Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov stated that State Budget expenditures
on an IDP for 2011 amounted to AZN 715 ($894), which is the highest
in the world.

“In 2011, it was spent $500 million on needs of refugees and IDPs
– $295 million from the State Budget, $175 million from the State
Oil Fund (SOFAZ) and $30 million from international humanitarian
organizations,” Hasanov said.

In 1991-2011 total expenditures amounted to AZN 3.7 bn ($4.5 bn)
– $ 2.7 billion from the State Budget, $1 billion from SOFAZ, $900
million from international organizations.

“60% of these finances have been spent over the last 8 years – during
the presidency of Ilham Aliyev,” Hasanov said.

As a result of Armenia’s aggression the country is numbering 1 million
refugees and IDPs.
